Bitcoin ETF Flow

+21.1MStrong Inflow

Last updated OCT. 9, 2026

What It Measures

The net daily flow of money into or out of US spot Bitcoin ETFs (shares created/redeemed, valued in USD) — not a price prediction, a measurement of fund-level buying and selling pressure on a single US trading day.

How It's Calculated

Primary data: SoSoValue's aggregate net flow across all US spot BTC ETFs. From the stored daily history we compute the latest confirmed flow, 3D/7D/30D/90D cumulative totals and averages (30D/90D only shown once that much real history has actually accumulated - never a shorter window mislabeled as a longer one), the current consecutive inflow/outflow streak, a Flow Momentum read (7-day average vs. 30-day average, scaled by the size of the 30-day average: ≥50% relative difference reads Accelerating/Decelerating, ≥15% reads Strengthening/Weakening, otherwise Neutral), and a 0–100 Flow Pressure score (40% the percentile rank of today's flow, 60% the percentile rank of the trailing 7-day cumulative, both against all stored history - weighted toward the 7-day figure so one unusually large single day can't dominate the score).

Independent Validation

Cross-checked against XOOMAR (an independent, holdings-file-derived source covering IBIT, BITB, and ARKB) for the same three funds: current status DIVERGENCE, difference $43.0M.

SoSoValue IBIT+BITB+ARKB subset vs XOOMAR's holdings-derived total for the same three funds. Driven mainly by ARKB: SoSoValue $+0.0M vs XOOMAR $-20.7M for that fund alone (the other covered funds were within tolerance) - often a one-day lag in that issuer's own holdings-disclosure file rather than a real data problem.

XOOMAR doesn't cover every US spot BTC ETF, so this is only ever a same-subset check (SoSoValue's IBIT+BITB+ARKB total vs. XOOMAR's), never treated as an error against SoSoValue's full-universe total. Data via xoomar.com.

Why It Matters

Distinguishes real, fund-level capital movement from ordinary secondary-market price action. We deliberately don't say things like "institutions are buying" or "this predicts price" — only what the flow itself was.

Data Source, Freshness & Update Frequency

Data freshness: CURRENT (2 day(s) since the latest confirmed trading day, 2026-10-09).

Primary: SoSoValue Open API. Validation: XOOMAR. ETF flow is a once-per-US-trading-day figure, so this refreshes a few times a day on its own schedule — not the 15-minute cycle the other live indicators use, since polling a daily number that often would be pointless.
